The Ministry of Education in Bangladesh has announced scholarships for 10,500 meritorious students who passed the HSC examination this year. Among these, 1,125 students will receive merit scholarships, while 9,375 will be granted general scholarships. Education boards have been instructed to publish the scholarship gazette for HSC graduates as soon as possible.

Allocation of Scholarships by the Ministry of Education

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has already issued an order to allocate scholarship quotas for HSC students. The directive was published on Tuesday, March 15th.

Number of Students Receiving Scholarships

Out of the total scholarships, 1,125 will receive merit scholarships, while 9,375 students will be awarded general scholarships.

Scholarship Amount

Merit scholarship recipients will be given a monthly stipend of BDT 825 and an annual one-time grant of BDT 1,800. General scholarship recipients will receive a monthly stipend of BDT 375 and an annual one-time grant of BDT 750. The scholarship funds will be taken from the revenue budget's scholarship-merit scholarship allocation for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through G2P Method

The scholarship funds will be sent to students' bank accounts through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using the G2P method.

Opening Bank Accounts

To receive the scholarship, students must open an account with any bank that offers online services and is part of the tafsili schedule. The account must be opened within seven days of admission to higher education institutions.

Submission of Bank Details

Scholarship recipients must submit their bank account number and other necessary information to their educational institutions.

Announcement of Scholarship Recipients

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has instructed the nine general education boards to publish the scholarship recipient list along with the gazette by Thursday, March 16th.
